Apply Now: STEM Seal of Excellence for Committed Schools

by Stefanie Sieber

The application phase for the prestigious “STEM-Friendly School” and “Digital School” awards is open until May 31, 2025. These awards are presented by the “MINT Zukunft schaffen!” initiative (translated as “Creating a STEM Future”). All types of schools – from primary to vocational – that demonstrate exceptional commitment to STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or innovative digital learning concepts are eligible to apply.

The initiative is looking for schools that teach in a practical, forward-thinking, and innovative way – preparing students for the challenges of tomorrow. It's not all about high-tech labs or state-of-the-art equipment: tried-and-true programs like the FIRST LEGO League, STEM clubs, or creative digital teaching approaches can also make a significant impact.

Why apply?

  • Strengthen your school’s profile with an official certification
  • Gain recognition for dedicated teachers and progressive school development
  • Connect and exchange ideas with other STEM stakeholders across Germany

The awards are under the patronage of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs and the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport.
