Our Projects

What we do and how we do it...

HANDS on TECHNOLOGY organizes different international programs for the promotion of young engineers  that allow children and youngsters an easy access to science and technology and motivare them early for a professional career in engineering, IT or science.  The educational programs FIRST® LEGO® League Junior (FLL Jr.), FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) and RoboCup Junior (RCJ) combine the fun and excitement of a sports event with the tricky challenge to design, build and program a robot and solve scientific problems with creativity and innovative ideas.

Children and young people have the opportunity to use these challenging robot competitions and gain valuable practical experience in working with complex technologies, they can improve their problem solving abilities and all that with a lot of fun and creativity in their peer group! They learn and practise 21st century skills in a playful way - besides programming they solve problems in a team and have to present themselves as well as their ideas.

Our international educational programs are field-tested for many years and we may look back on more than 15 years of experience in the area. Since the beginning in 2001 more than 40.000 individual children have passed our programs.

FIRST® LEGO® League Jr.

It’s never too early to discover STEM: through exploratory research, hands-on construction, teamwork, imagination, and fun with LEGO elements, FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. challenges teams of up to six kids to explore a real-world scientific concept, then build a motorized model and develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery. Throughout the season, adult coaches provide guidance and inspiration.

FLL challenges children and young people aged 9 to 16 years to develop the mindset of engineers and scientists. The participants of the robotics competition should build, test and program autonomous robots with LEGO MINDSTORMS and solve missions in the Robot Game. In addition they are supposed to solve a real world problem in the research assignment. During the competition, the teams also learn basic social skills.
